Zakir husain Delhi College holds the distinction of being in existence well before the establishment of Delhi university. The Arabic department, with its dedicated, competent and committed teachers and student-centred teaching methodology, offers a three-year B.A. programme focusing on the study of Arabic language and literature.

2) JNU – Centre of Arabic and African Studies (CAAS)
The Centre of Arabic and African Studies (CAAS) is a part of JNU’s School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies. The Centre has emerged as one of the most prominent centres among all the Indian Universities especially in the field of modern Arabic Language and specialisation in its literature, translation and interpretation.
The Centre of Arabic & African Studies (CAAS) holds an entrance examination for admission to full time three year B.A. (H), two year M.A. and five year M.Phil/Ph.D. programmes in Arabic Language, Literature and Culture. At the moment, the centre also offers optional courses in Hebrew B.A. level. and African Swahili language.

3) Arabic Course in Jamia Millia Islamia
Department of Arabic is one of the oldest Departments of Jamia Millia Islamia. It enjoys a high reputation not only in India but also in the Arab & Muslim world. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Jawaharlal Nehru Academy of Languages is one of the oldest institutions in the Capital City offering intensive courses in foreign languages. Started in 1962, Institute offers 1-year Arabic language course in Delhi. The course is divided into 2 semesters of 5 months each. Students will be awarded Certificate after 2nd semester.

The National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD), Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Government of India.
