On the other hand, working as an interpreter means acting as the “bridge” between two different tongues.

Since they don’t know each other language, they cannot sign any contract.
It is where you come in — to bridge their language gap before they can reach an agreement.

Usually, where people may not understand the speaker’s language. A career scope as an interpreter is vast and growing northward.

I’m a bcom graduate and I’m looking forward to going ahead with the Korean Language. But everyone is suggesting going for Japanese or Spanish or German since they are worried about the Job prospects in the Korean Language. But isn’t the job prospects for the Korean language increased much now ?

Hello Vikash, I’m pursuing a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications and am learning Japanese. I have completed the N4 level and will go for N3 soon. I selected the language because I wanted to learn it out of curiosity, but now I am wondering how I can use it to help my career. Can you tell me about some technical skills that are a must to land a job in an international organization? I am familiar with some programming languages like C, C++, and JAVA. Sir, I am 42-years and I would like to shift my job to foreign translation. I have 2 queries.
1. Which foreign language is in high demand so that I can learn it?
2. Secondly, after I learn, is it possible for me to get a job in any good company as a translator?
1. I don’t have advice on which language to pick other than when I am doing career counseling. This is something you have to decide on your own.
2. Yes, possible, but it depends on your engagement with that language. The translator position requires a higher level of proficiency along with some relevant experience. It’s a long-term goal and should be planned, and one needs to be motivated enough.
Hello Sir
Sir, I want to learn at least 5 foreign languages, and now I am learning A2 in German. Sir, kindly let me know. I heard about linguistics. For learning many languages, should I go for a linguistic degree or learn languages one by one institute like now I am learning German at Goethe Institute?
That’s quite an ambitious aim. Good luck with that. Linguistic doesn’t teach a particular language but various aspects of language. So, you can go one by one like the German you’re doing. But before moving to the next one, make sure you achieve some meaningful proficiency like B2 in German.
And sir I want to be a certified foreign languages expert. I mean my languages courses should be recognized everywhere.
You can take official language proficiency exams. For example, JLPT or NAT – Japanese, DELE or SIELE – Spanish, DELF/DALF – French, and so on.
Hello Sir
What are the careers one can aim for after possessing a TEFL certification and a B2 level in a foreign language like French/Spanish? Is there a job where both these qualifications can benefit?
You will be eligible for most jobs that require French/Spanish. You can also get some translation work, or that needs to communicate effectively in English.
Hello sir.
Sir, I passed 12 this year. I am thinking about doing a degree in hospitality management. But I am really interested in a foreign language. I want to learn Mandarin or Korean. What should I do?

Is it good to choose MBA after graduation in Korean language?
Yes.
Greetings Sir. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English lit. I am planning to start learning French from Alliance. What master’s course would you suggest, other than an MBA, that could help me land a decent job in embassies or MNCs? Thanks.
There is no particular PG that matches best with a foreign language. Go with your interest and current market trend/demand. I usually suggest MBA after a few years of experience because that fits in most companies.
List the MNC and the salaries for each category in India. Please.
That is not possible. I gave you the reasons in my earlier reply. 🙂
Can you ping the list of companies and the salaries for the above ones at least in India for all the 18 categories for Spanish or in general?
That’s not possible as salaries vary greatly depending on job profile, location, skills, and experience. There is no average salary in the field of languages. Even if I try, it will take tons of effort to get not-so-accurate data. Also, I don’t particularly like talking much about salary in my articles.
Sir, im thinking to pursue BA german hons. What skill do you think I should learn along with german for a better future?
After BA, you can consider doing a master’s like MBA, along with C1/C2 Goethe-Zertifikat. You can also improve digital knowledge and communication skills.
Hello. I have completed my bachelor’s of commerce and have completed German till level c1. Could you tell me all the qualifications needed for international sales marketing? What should I pursue next if I want to pursue international sales marketing?
For most jobs, the requirement is MBA in sales/Internation marketing along with relevant experience. If you want to make a career in this domain, I’d suggest gaining experience and later consider PGDBA.
Does international sales marketing mean cold calling?
Not really. The job requires dealing with existing/new clients/businesses in other countries. Beyond the usual calling, email, online meetings, it also requires visiting that country to finalize/progress the deal.
Okay. And what is the salary for such jobs?
It varies and dependss on experience.
Sir, currently I have indulged myself in learning French so that which course in B.A. should I opt for. Which one has more scope, history or Geography?
It won’t make a significant difference regardless of what subject you pick.

Hi sir
I am a student of class 12th and want to pursue English honors as an undergraduate. Also, I have a keen interest in learning Spanish. Is it a good language to learn, or should I consider other language options for better career options in the future?
It is a good idea to study Spanish from a career perspective.
Sir, I am in 10th and I earlier decided to pursue CA as a career but I love reading books and want to learn a foreign language. After reading the above article I got to know that there are various career options as a multiple languages speaker. I have an interest in teaching so I found the option of teaching a particular language in college interesting. So, I wanted to know that after becoming a CA can I be a faculty in the college, or I will have to focus fully on that one job. Also, the job of a translator also attracted me, so can I get a part-time job as a translator, or I have to fully focus on being a translator.
It is better to focus on one career path, especially since both are vast and require full-time undivided time and dedication.
Dear Sir,
I have knowledge of 5 foreign languages. And I am willing to join the embassies. Can you please tell me the procedure for how to apply? I have those certificates (dele, hsk, delf, etc.)

Sir, I just passed my 10th I am having trouble choosing between science and arts and I have an interest in the Japanese language. Therefore can I do 11th, 12th science, and then Japanese? I have learned Japanese scripts hiragana and katakana and have taken a step towards kanjis.
Sir, please suggest what I should do. I also want to go to Japan and live there if possible. But speaking of science there is scope in engineering and etc. I am scared of what will happen in the future. I am worried about my future.
Yes, you can study Japanese whenever you want, including after the 12th. However, it would be best if you had other relevant degrees and experience to live in Japan in addition to Japanese language knowledge. Moreover, getting a job solely based on Japanese is not feasible in Japan but possible in India. Thus, think about various career avenues other than Japanese, and focus on the right combination.
Hi Sir, This is Ananya studying 12th std. I have more interest in a foreign language. I read all your blogs. I find it difficult to choose between GERMAN and JAPANESE. Which language has more scope in India like Translator or Teacher? It would be helpful if you guide me on this sir.
That would be difficult to pick. Both are good choices, and whatever you choose, you won’t regret it in the future. Perhaps go with the one you have more interest in and the availability of courses in your locality.
Is it better to learn Spanish and German after the 12th so that I can work in online jobs like translator or something in part time? Is it a possible and a good thing to do? Or is it a time wasting thing?
To become a successful translator in both German and Spanish, it will take 4-5 years of study. Yes, you can start after 12th.
Sir, I just completed my 10th grade and am willing to do a career in languages. I don’t know which college should I choose or which stream should I go or which courses should I do. I’m so confused right now. As a student, I’m also learning a little Japanese; I want to do it professionally, but I have no clue about the start of this career path. I would love to have a job in Japan and also travel abroad. And would the courses be cheap or affordable? I’m really confused about it. And I badly wanna do it.
You need career guidance. After consulting your parents, you can hire someone. I also offer language career counselling at an affordable price.
Sir, I am scared, as I do not know how I should go about it. Which college or university to apply for it? Will I have a job after I have done courses and had a degree, and which course I should go to have more job opportunities, and where I want to travel abroad? I know some Japanese basics and would love to have a job in Japan. Also, is it cheap to pursue it and do I have hope? Ah, I am so confused, and I want to do it badly too. Please guide me, sir.
In short, you need career counseling 🙂 Send me a message on Instagram. I’ll try to help you out.
Sir, my age is 30. Am I eligible for learning a foreign language to start my career in different fields as a fresher?
Yes.
Hi sir,
I have done my graduation in with Hindi hons. After this, I wanna pursue my career in a foreign language. Can you please suggest to me which language I should choose? And the job options in the same.
There isn’t a three-line answer that can solve your question and doubts. I’d advise you to read some of the articles on this blog. Spend at least a week. I have covered all in detail. If you are still stuck somewhere, let me know.
I have completed the German language till level C1. I am currently working as Customer Support in an MNC. I have graduated. I have done B.Com. I want to do a course in digital marketing. Are there jobs available in digital marketing with foreign languages? If yes, then which jobs?
I’m sure there must be many. In fact, digital marketing is required for nearly all companies. You can look for digital marketing recruitment agencies or organizations that do business with the German-speaking region/clients. This combination also helps to work on your own in the long run.
Can you please give me some ideas about which language I should be able to choose, I want to learn I’m confused can you help me a bit?
This is something only you can decide.
Hi sir
I have done graduation in german hons from the University of Delhi and also C2 from max müller Bhavan. Dont know what to do now. Can you help or suggest something that would be really nice.
Thanks
Vijay
You can do a Master’s in German from the GRS department, along with some part-time freelance work like writing, translating, or teaching. You can also try several MNCs that require German language professionals. C2 is quite an impressive feat, so you should start employing your skills in your career.
Hello, Vijay can you please give me some suggestions about max muller or I want to discuss it.
Max Mueller Bhavan is an excellent choice to learn German.
Thnx sir
Hello sir, I am an 11th-grade science student, and I want to pursue my career in languages. Can you please help me out to make the switch from science to a career in languages? Or can a still land up any of the above jobs without making the switch while continue to study the sciences for 11th and 12th?
Yes, you can continue with Science. You can learn a language after 12th.
Hello Sir,
I am doing master’s in MTTM and I already have done A1 level in the German language. Please suggest to me the best suitable sector choices as a career and how many more levels should I do as well?
Check the article “Language Career in Travel & Tourism Industry” that I wrote long back. It covers everything related to your field. You can check that in the career and jobs category of this blog or type “tourism” in the search bar.
I am planning to study Japanese but I’m confused that it will help me in my future. Can you suggest I should do Japanese or some other foreign language.
Japanese is a fabulous choice. You can continue with that.
I am doing digital marketing and learning the German language, and have plans to do an MBA in the future. What would be the best suit for my career?
Well, your planning is on the right track. MBA + German + Digital Marketing can open a variety of career choices.
Sir, can I find a job after completing a Diploma in Italian Language or have to complete the Advanced Diploma? And what kind of job can I get after Diploma/Advance Diploma in Italian?
Advanced Diploma is better. You can also take a CILS or CELI test to gauge your Italian level. Most of the jobs are in MNC, BPO, and export houses. You can also check Amazon. They offer jobs for Italian learners.
Hi, is it necessary to do MA in French? Or is DELF B1/B2 certification enough for future prospects?
B2 is sufficient for most jobs.
I complete my graduation (BCOM) from Delhi University, and I am working in MNC in the finance sector. Can you please suggest to me as I am thinking to change my career in language? So, which language has more scope in the finance field in India?
There is no particular language that provides more scope in the finance domain compared. You can contemplate one of the popular ones like French, German, Spanish, or Japanese.
Hello Sir. I was studying for my CA finals (I am a Commerce Graduate) but wish to switch to a career in languages. I am interested in the translation of foreign-language literature. Which language should I be learning? I’ve heard German and French have a good scope in India. Please guide me through this.
A career switch at this junction might not be a great idea. But if you really want to do something worthwhile with languages, you can learn either of them. Both are good though French is more widespread. To become a successful translator, it takes a long time. Thus, I’d suggest continuing with your existing field, and once you achieve some higher proficiency and find job opportunities in languages, you can switch completely.
Hello sir, I have just completed my BA English graduation, and I have cleared JLPT N3. I do not wish to pursue an MBA. My dream is to live in Japan. Can you help me? I also plan to learn more languages like Korean and Mandarin.
Do you plan to do MBA from Japan? If yes, you can get a post-study work visa. You can contact any overseas study consultant. They will help you out in choosing Colleges and applying for the same.
Sir, can I do a Korean language certification course and get a job. Also, can I be there any job scope in Korean and Japanese, and can I get a job in S.korea or japan as an ESL teacher as I am an Indian? (non-native).
A mere certification in Korean is not enough to get a job involving the language. Yes, if you fulfill all eligibility criteria and requirements, you can work as an ESL teacher in these two countries.
Hello sir, I want to know if I want to work as a translater from home, which I prefer to study. Which language has more scope and salary?
There is no particular language that offers more pay-check and scope. You can spend some time getting knowledge of various languages. And then select as per your judgment and enthusiasm.
Hi sir, Can I know which language has more scope in the logistics field in India? Is it possible to get a job by studying a foreign language for a 31-year-old who is pursuing graduation first year?
There is no particular one that is best in the logistic sector. Yes, foreign languages open the door to plenty of career avenues.
Hello sir. I have completed my engineering in computer science, and I’m really interested in having a job as a translator or interpreter in the Spanish language. So is it possible to have that job if I pass the DELE exam?
Possible once you pass at least DELE B2.
Hello Sir,
I am a Ph.D. in Chemistry and currently am working as a Post Doctorate. But wish to collaborate between research and foreign language. I have studied Spanish certificate course and have a good knowledge of French. I want to know if there is an opportunity in research for translation. So it can benefit my career and the knowledge I have. I am planning to study further Spanish at higher levels. Can you please suggest to me?
I’m not sure if there is any job that requires research in translation though many pursue a Ph.D. in Spanish and choose various broad topics related to translation. You can become a translator provided that you achieve near-native level proficiency.
I am a History Hons Student. Now I am studying ethical hacking (CEH V-11). Which language would be best for me if I wanted to work abroad with an Ethical Hacker? How about learning Japanese?
The choice of language depends on your target country/region. You can pick any language that interests you, including Japanese.
Sir, I am pursuing B.A. (English hon) from Delhi university + also a Chinese language course. I am very interested and want a job in the embassy. Can you please suggest to me what can I do after this or whether the MBA is a good option for me after Ba English hon and foreign language course?
Getting an embassy job is difficult due to a limited number of new openings. Yes, an MBA + foreign language course is a fabulous combination from a career perspective.
Hi! I completed a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2019. Since then, I am doing Spanish. I want to develop a career in language translation and writing. What courses would you suggest for my post-graduation?
MA in Spanish is a good choice if you want to be a Spanish translator. After gaining the upper intermediate level, you can appear for the entrance test. If you wish to diversify your career, then MBA + DELE C1 is another great combination. Good luck “R” 🙂
So, Please tell me what should I do after 12th for becoming a polyglot? I also have dreams of traveling the whole world. Will becoming a polyglot will help me to fulfill my dream?
After 12th, you can start studying languages. But I’d suggest to only learn one language at a time as it will create unnecessary confusion. Plus, spreading yourself thin is another way of not giving each language the concentration it deserves. No, speaking multiple languages won’t help to see different parts of the world.
If I do a linguistic course, then will I be able to speak several languages?
Not at all. The program doesn’t teach you one or multiple languages but covers three core areas of linguistics: (i) phonetics and phonology, (ii) syntax, and (iii) pragmatics and semantics.
Sir, I want to learn more than 8 languages. Please suggest me a course for it. What will be a career for me if I learn many languages?
You can pick a particular language, and enroll in a nearby learning center to start from scratch. Once you achieve an upper-intermediate or advanced level, you can begin learning the 2nd language. You will get the same career, irrespective of whether you know one or ten foreign languages. However, you will get more and better opportunities, and also get an edge in the interviews.
Studying many languages is more of an interest and personal accomplishment rather career advancement. Since I had studied/tried several languages, thus, based on my personal experience, achieving advanced competency in one or two is better than 5-10 with beginners or lower intermediate proficiency.
This is Subhodeep from Kolkata. I have an overall 10 years of working experience in the hotel industry. I am looking for a job in the hotel industry.
Get in touch with any job consultant that deals with the hotel and hospitality industry.
Sir, I am a media student, and currently studying in 2nd year. I am learning German language and will start Spanish very soon. If I complete the B1 level in both the languages, what kind of salary can I expect in India, and what kind of out of India approximately?
After B1, you can only get entry-level jobs. Aim for B2 or C1. Salary depends on multiple factors, and that is why it is difficult to give an estimated figure.
Sir, I am pursuing ba then I will decide to learn Spanish language but I have no idea about these languages. Sir, plz give me full information about this language and suggest why language Is best for me at that time and I really needed a job.
I don’t consider any particular language as “best.” There are some popular languages from a career perspective, and Spanish is definitely one of them. Over the years, I have written several detailed articles related to various languages, including Spanish that answer plenty of questions. Since you have time to decide, I’d suggest spending some time reading these articles on my blogs.
Sir, I wanted suggestions regarding my career. I have done civil engineering and done with JLPT n5 I want to go to the MNC field. I am very much interested in MBA HR. Whether to pursue a higher level of JLPT or do my regular MBA or do both which will give me more value for my career-wise?
Regular MBA + part-time Japanese would be a great combination.
Sir, I passed out engineering in 2017 I was preparing for UPSC all these days with that I have done JLPT. Now I want to look into MNC is my path correct by choosing regular MBA + Japanese language.
Wish you all the best Madhu.
Sir, I am pursuing B.A.(Hons) English from DU. Also, learning Spanish from Cervantes. (A2.3 level). Now, if I want to be a Spanish Professor, what step should I take?
• Do Master in English and learn Spanish from Cervantes till C1.
Or
• Do masters in Spanish from DU and continue learning from Cervantes and correspondence in masters in English?
I guess I have already replied to you earlier. For a permanent position in University as an Assistant professor, you need to follow B2 → MA in Spanish (through the entrance) → Ph.D. in Spanish. Ph.D. is compulsory these days.
For a temporary position in Universities (Guest/Visiting faculty) or teaching jobs in schools, institutes, companies, etc., both C1 or MA in Spanish are fine.
I just passed out my 12th, and i love learning new languages. I know a few of them. If i have to do jobs with a high paying salary in this field, which it should be and which course?
You’re commenting on the very post that answers that question. Pick what you like. For courses, it depends on duration, affordability, and location. You can enroll in any good institute to reach the 2nd highest level of the corresponding test. For example — C1 of French or N2 of Japanese, etc.
Hi, I have done my MBA in finance with btech background and wish to have a career in foreign languages. Which language to learn? What is the career scope?
That would not be easy to answer in a few lines. You can read some of the articles on this blog to get a better understanding. Later, if you still have some doubts, you can ask here.
Hello sir,
I have completed my master’s program in German language and also the C1 level. How I can join as a translator in the government agency?
I haven’t seen any such opening in recent times. If you find one, you can apply for it.
Sir, I complete my graduation B.B.A and I am also pursuing M.B.A, and I completed my 2 years diploma in the Chinese language. I have completed HSk 3 certificate in Chinese and preparing for HSK4. So, Please, sir, tell me what I can do for my best future career.
The number of jobs requiring Chinese has declined due to bilateral relations. However, you can still find some. Once you complete MBA, you can explore employment in companies that deal with China. There are plenty of such businesses. In the meanwhile, also try to complete HSK 4, 5, and increase your contacts.
Could you please help me to decide which language should I learn: Spanish or Korean? I love both these languages but I’m just so confused about which option will be better for my future career. I really need your help. While Spanish is the national language of about 21 countries, the Korean language is my first love. It’s getting really hard to decide which language I should learn.
Unfortunately, only you can decide. I’m a language-agnostic and consider all languages equally great. It is just an individual perspective.
I think you are into Kpop or K-culture that’s you love the Korean language. Even I do. Due to the same reasons, you can learn Korean as it’s added in the national education policy 2020 now. Apart from it, you can also learn Spanish in just a year. It’s not that difficult. I wish you the best of luck for whatever you will do.
Annyeong.
Sir, I’m commerce with maths student, and I’m considering learning Japanese after school. Although I’m a commerce student, I’ve realized that I don’t have much interest in that field, and I am attracted more to linguistic fields. So should I pursue a management/other commerce-related degree alongside Japanese or BA English? Hons with Japanese? Please answer this considering which would be best for my career.
Well, since your questions comprise various fields and subjects other than languages, you need help from a career counselor. If you’ve any queries regarding languages, including Japanese, let me know.
I am studying Russian intensive from the last 5 months but not getting the concept of the case and some more things. So, how to get command, please suggest the best method, sir.
The best method is to find a Russian teacher (offline or online) or join any institute offering Russian classes.
Sir, I am learning Russian from an institute, still not getting a command on grammatical concepts, then how can I get command on this?
Take the help of your teacher, and buy some books. Since I don’t know Russian. Thus, it would be difficult to suggest something meaningful.
What are the business-related options in languages?
Translation or interpreter agency, content writing, educational institutions, overseas consultancy, a tour company for travelers coming from abroad, liaison between Indian companies and foreign clients in Non-English speaking countries, export houses, and many more.
Hello sir, I am Sagar pursuing my BCom final year from Delhi University and also side by side I am learning the German language from Max Mueller Bhawan. I am a bit confused that should I continue with German or LLB from Chaudhary Charan Singh University which is of 3 years with training. I want to become a lawyer also, but I don’t want to leave German because I spend so much money on that. Please help me, sir. Thank you so much
Since you wish to be a lawyer, therefore, you can enrol in the LLB program. Since you have 3 years to complete LLB, thus, you can continue your German through a slow-paced part-time course in the evening/weekend/holiday. Viel Glück!
Sir, I’m in class 12th, and I want to study a foreign language. Which language will be best for me?
There is no “best” language. Choose as per your interest and goal.
Hello, How important is the choice of an institute for pursuing a foreign language? Please share your thoughts on this. Thanks!
It is one of the crucial factors. Very few institutes offer quality teaching.
Sir, I’ve done Spanish B2 level for Cervantes institute. Now, I’m eligible to get a job in MNC company?
Yes.
Hello sir, I’m preparing for cabin crew and if a person knows a foreign language that would be an advantage for him. As airlines have a preference for them and I want to learn a foreign language and bit confused between Spanish and French. Could you please suggest me which language would be a good option to learn for being a flight attendant and from where I can learn in Mumbai?
Both are good options. You can choose either one. In Mumbai, you can try Instituto Hispania for Spanish, or Alliance Française for French.
Hello Sir,
I’m pursuing MBA in HR and also planning to pursue the French Language along with my MBA in HR. Can you please tell me, will it worth to learn French with HR? Is it of any use to learn it for my better career scope? As I want to settle in abroad in coming years. Do companies hire/need HR who speaks more than one language, or there is no relation of HR with French.
Yes, French will add more value to your C.V. The possibilities can open up depending on the company you’re going to be working for and your level of engagement with French. At least, there are no disadvantages!
Hello Sir,
I am a working professional with two years of experience in B2B sales (Business Development). I am studying the German language as well. Does German has the scope in India and can make a bright career in Business Development sector? I am learning the German language is for Career Growth, and another is settling abroad. Please do let me know your thoughts.
Yes, German offers a myriad of scope and job opportunities in the above-mentioned sector.
Thanks, sir for sharing your views. I am a 3rd yr student and pursuing B.A (Hons.) in Spanish from Doon University. Sir, I want to know is there any good opportunities in the Aviation sector for foreign language speakers.
Ability to speak an international language is almost always an excellent add-on your C.V. in the broad spectrum of Aviation industry.
Hello Vikash,
I am Jatinder, I have 8 years of Industry experience in Branding, Human resources, I wanted to learn a foreign language for two purposes; one is career growth (Financial/Role) and another is settling abroad. I did my research but I am in dilemma which of these two languages will be more beneficial for me and my profile; they are French and German. Could you please put some light on this.
Already replied at Career in German.
Sir, I’m class 11 student with commerce without maths and I’m interested in learning French after 12 so if I don’t take maths in 11 that will not cause any problem while getting admission in a language school.
It does not make any difference. You can pick whatever subjects you wish to study in 11th and 12th and can still learn French after 12th.
Sir, I have passed 12th this year and I’m interested in making my career as a Spanish language interpreter. But I’m confused that if I learn it from a Spanish Institute instead of learning it from Delhi University, then will learn it from Institute will provide me equal job opportunities as will du? Please reply asap.
There is no difference as far as knowledge and jobs are concerned. But you should only go with reputed Spanish Institutes in Delhi. For example, if you go with Instituto Hispania. They complete all 8 levels in 2 years along with the preparation of International Diplomas like DELE or SIELE which is actually better than a 3-year part-time Advanced Diploma from DU.
The only caveat is private Institutes don’t provide a degree. So, you also need to take a degree program from any University along with a Spanish course at Pvt. Institute.
Sir, I am learning mandarin for 2 and a half years. still, one year are there to finish the course. Sir, please inform me how will I able to become an interpreter or translator?
I’m not sure what course you are doing. After achieving advanced proficiency in Mandarin, you can apply to any new openings for Mandarin translator. For an interpreter job, the experience is usually an important prerequisite.
sir, I have passed my 12th recently. What should i choose, diploma+advance diploma in Chinese or a degree in chinese? Which will be best for me for a bright future?
If you wish to make a career as a Mandarin Specialist, then Degree course is usually better. However, the Advanced Diploma is also ok.
Sir which one shall I choose certificate course or diploma or degree course.
That will depend on your goal, choice of language, and availability of the course. A degree level course is usually better than a part-time 2-year Diploma or 3-year advanced Diploma but it may or may not feasible for you.
Sir, kindly suggest which foreign language has huge scope in India and can make a bright career?
French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Mandarin are top 5 picks.
sir I have done till B2.1 level from Goethe Institute Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi and now I wanted to do a part-time job as a translator so can you please help me to find this or you know someone who is hiring for this.
You can make your profile on various job portals and apply. While I do receive several new job openings from various recruiters. However, due to lack of time I’m not able to track and update regularly. Sometimes, I add on JOBS.
Sir, how to get jobs in international organizations like UNICEF and in brand specialist companies like Google and how about to go in the field of journalism? How can we proceed further and what other courses we need to do in order to get in these fields?
The foreign Language skill is a great value-add on your C.V. for the professions you’ve mentioned. Unfortunately, I can only answer about languages since I don’t want to dive into a different field.
Sir. I am a journalist in a Hindi National newspaper in Ghaziabad and want to make my career in foreign journalism. I have done bachelors and masters of journalism and now which language and which country is best for me. What should I do? Please suggest me. Thanks
I have rarely seen any job opening in India where the combination of journalism and foreign language is required. Foreign language skills may be helpful if you’re covering the International market, especially where English is not the official language. To get any job opportunity is any particular country, in-depth knowledge about the region concerned is important.
Someone in this field can help you more. As far as language is concerned, French or Spanish is better since both are widely spoken languages.
Nice Information provided, very helpful for the people who are interested to learn foreign languages and choose a career in translating and related jobs.
Hello Sir,
I’m a software test analyst. Just out of interest, my 4 and half year old son, started watching some online Spanish kids videos and he says a few words in Spanish. Because of which I started learning Spanish in my free time (well, I have to make it free). I’m learning it through various means for the past 2 months – Duolingo mobile app, BBC Spanish books (borrowed from friends) and few more online references (including your blog).
So far, I feel comfortable learning the language but I don’t know if the above references are sufficient to learn it to its advanced level. I’m very much curious to teach the language to my son on my own. Is this practically possible?
Yes, it is certainly possible to first learn and then teach. Whatever resources you’ve mentioned are not enough to achieve Intermediate level let alone Advanced knowledge. But since your child is too young. Therefore, you can continue tutoring for the next few years. Once your little one grows to say 10, you can hire a Spanish tutor.
I believe language teaching should be done by professionals since the wrong method can lead to wrong results and usually it is hard to unlearn than starting from scratch!
Hi sir,
Am Ranjini and I completed my BE in computer science. Now I want to learn foreign languages and pursue a career in foreign languages. Can you please suggest me. Is there any possibility that I can get a job now after completing BE.
Language learning takes time. Thus, Why to wait for 3-4 years when you can find a job now with your existing skills i.e B.E. in CS? If you have already decided to make a career in languages, pick a language and then learn from scratch to the advanced level. After achieving higher proficiency, you can apply to any new openings as per location, opportunity in hand and expectation.
I have completed my Advanced Diploma in the German Language. And I want to pursue my career in teaching. What requirements are there for teaching in schools as well as colleges and also what is the pay-scale??
The selection criteria and salary differ from school to school. ZD B2, Advanced Diploma, BA, or MA in German is usually the requirement. Some reputed schools ask for B.Ed Qualification as well as experience in the same field. For a permanent position in Universities, the minimum eligibility is MA in German along with UGC NET.
For any promotion, Ph.D. in German is compulsory. For Visiting or Guest faculty, University can hire with less qualification but the experience is essential. Getting a job in College is difficult, you can try in School or Institute or even corporate trainer if you have good German fluency and of course confidence.
Sir, I am doing my M.A in the Russian language. How can I find a part-time job in Delhi?
You can try to find something on various job portals.
Sir, I want to learn Japnese for the jobs. Actually, I am scared whether I can learn it or not. Should I do or not?
There is no need to be scared. Japanese is not a hard language to learn, even though it is often perceived that way. It is rather different and unique, which means prior knowledge of other languages including English won’t help. Armed with proper motivation, right guidance, and learning strategies, you can definitely learn Japanese.
Kind Attn:
Mr. Vikash ji,
I’m a male of 60, taken leave from daily job, maintaining sound health and energy, feeling very isolated, irrelevant and bore. May you please kindly suggest me a combination of language which is highly in demand, paid reasonably well and can offer a dignified job? And then name of a well reputed institution with renowned faculty. Please.
Thanks and Regards.
Hello Mr. Gorang,
Age is no barrier to employment, work, or success. I admire your zeal. The only problem is you have to start from scratch and by the time you will become a professional language specialist with some experience, you will be close to mid-60s, past retirement age. It is really difficult to find a decent language job even part-time for a sexagenarian.
The only exception is decades of experience in the field of language which is obviously not the case with you. Sir, my honest advice is not to learn any language solely for a career. If you wish to learn, you should but only as a hobby and who knows you might end up getting something you want with the combination of your existing and language skills.
Sir. I have done my diploma in Spanish language. Am I eligible for applying in government sector? If I can then what is the procedure?
There are not many Government Jobs for language learners. If you find something that aligns your skills, you can apply. The diploma is not enough to be considered a Spanish specialist. Thus, apply as per your skill set or continue with Spanish to achieve higher proficiency like MA in Spanish or DELE B2/C1.
Hi sir. I am from Sri lanka. I want to do French, IT and English for my AL’s. I want to know that what are the jobs with high payments that i can get in future? What are the degrees that i have to follow to go for a good appreciated job.
I guess the A/L examinations is equivalent to 13 years of formal education or Senior secondary in Sri Lanka? A combination of IT, French, and English can help you land a job in IT companies where French skills are prerequisites.
Additionally, you can also try to achieve higher proficiency in French by appearing for DELF exam in Sri Lanka (LINK). Most of the jobs aforementioned are well-paying. Who knows, you might become a successful French translator or Interpreter a few years down to the line. 🙂
Hello sir, I am a student of class 10 and I want to pursue a career in foreign languages. I want to know if the above mentioned jobs will remain as an option if I choose commerce for my further studies. Or humanities will be a better option? I want to become an interpreter. Will that require a graduation degree? Or a diploma course in a language after 12 will do?
You have to pick subjects that mix well with a foreign language. For a specialized career in languages, the choice of subjects won’t make a big difference. If you want to become an interpreter, you have to achieve native proficiency in the language concerned.
You can achieve through either BA and MA in languages or part-time courses from any University or private institutions along with bachelor and master degrees in other subjects.
Hello sir, I am 17 yrs old right now, learning foreign languages has always been my passion. Currently I am learning German in my high school as an optional subject but next year I will be starting with my Goethe institut levels. Traveling around the world has also been one of my greatest interests though I don’t have much of the travel experiences before.
So I was wishing to pursue career in tourism. Currently I am in the 12th standard so I wanted to know what course should we go for in college for degree or if we can do ba in any subject?? Traveling internationally has always been my dream. What can be the starting salary and what courses or exams and interviews we need to give?? Will i get a handsome pay per month if I do it as a full time job? Please do REPLY sir??
I understand you have many questions in mind. Unfortunately, my answers are restricted to languages only.
