Founded in 1985, it is the only University in India and even in the entire Indian subcontinent that offers Masters programs in Portuguese.

The Department of Portuguese & Lusophone Studies at Goa University offers BA, MA, M.Phil, and Ph.D. in Portuguese.

2. Chowgule College in Margao
The Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science (Chowgule College), located in the South Goa district of Margao, is another remarkable option for Portuguese enthusiasts.
They also have an MoU with the University of Porto in Portugal for academic and cultural exchange.
The University, through the center for Portuguese Language & Culture (CPLC), offers Portuguese courses for three levels: Basic, Elementary, Intermediate, and Vantage.
In collaboration with Instituto Camões, each program involves 120 hours of learning and usually completed in five months. The batches begin in January and July.
Since 2012, CPLC at Chowgule College also offers a Bachelor’s degree course in Portuguese.
They have a dedicated library, Portuguese film club, and host various activities throughout the year to enhance the learning experience.
3. Instituto Camões in Panjim
