Although Korean is one of the top 10 foreign languages, it is not always the first choice for people looking to learn a foreign language in India. When people contemplate acquiring an East Asian tongue, they usually choose between Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. They typically fancy learning Japanese or Mandarin Chinese in India and maybe Korean as a third and last option. But perhaps it should be since the benefits of Learning Korean are higher today than ever before.
The number of people learning the Korean language in India is far fewer than in other Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. However, in recent times, a notable increase in demand has been seen in Korean courses across the country. The big spike in enrolment in Korean language studies is primarily due to the rising popularity of K-Pop, K-Drama, K-Movies, Kimchi, K-Beauty leading to what has been termed the “Korean Wave” or “Hallyu.”
There are innumerable benefits of learning a new tongue. Other than getting the highest paid language jobs and enhancing career prospects in languages, many wishes to study Korean for a variety of compelling reasons like job employment or higher studies in South Korea, immigration, business, traveling, cultural aspect, or want to rediscover a long-forgotten hobby. The career scope of Korean in India has risen to great extents thanks to South Korea’s booming economy and Indo-Korea growing relation in the 21st Century.
