Check the individual college criteria. If 45% is the minimum requirement, then not possible. In that case, you can always study at any private center.

For Diploma, you need to complete a certificate in Spanish. In a few colleges, they do take directly to Diploma, but the admission process varies. But in case of entrance, it would be similar to certificate program.

So, can I after attaining B2 level in French, apply for MA in French from DU though only through ‘entrance test’ as my percentile is below 60? Plus I also have a certificate in French language studies from ‘Alison’.

Rather than repeating BA, you can try MA in German if you achieve an advanced level by that time. You can also pursue in private institutes and can complete at least B2. You can work in BPOs, MNCs, export houses, educational institutions, digital marketing, the tourism industry. Plus, there are many opportunities as a freelance linguist.

Hello sir, I want to enroll for a certificate course in the German language for 2021 but have no idea about colleges that offer this and whether I can still apply now or have to wait for another year. I have already searched on Google but nothing cleared my doubts properly. It would be immensely helpful if you could be my guiding light in this.

You don’t need to search Google, but this article itself has all the information. Just check the headings (i) North Campus Colleges and (ii) South Campus Colleges. Pick the college offering a certificate in German. Then visit the site and apply. The last date is already over for most colleges. Still, you can check if admission is still going on. You can also study at any private institute.

So for that DU takes the entrances test? One more question is that what is more good doing B.A or M.A and after this Or I should go for A1 to C2 tests which one is good according to fees and costs too!

Admission to BA in Spanish at DU is based on marks obtained in 12th, which was more than 90% this year. A1 to C1 is good, and after that, you can try entrance for MA in Spanish.

A certificate will only help in level 1 of TOPIK I. However, if you complete a 3-year Advanced diploma, you might be able to clear level 3 or 4 of TOPIK II. Do remember that TOPIK has a validity of only 2 years. If you want to study on a fast track, private institutes would be a better choice.

Different colleges have different criteria and timings for the certificate courses. Some colleges offer their certificate courses to only students belonging to the college itself whereas some colleges allow outsiders also. So you can go for the ones where outsiders are also allowed. There is no superiority of colleges in certificate courses but yes, fees may differ.

It depends on the college and language. I’d suggest you pick a language and shortlist some colleges. When forms are available in July or so, you can apply for them.

Because to get a direct admisson in Diploma, one needs a recognized certificate in the same language. You can contact the respective college if they have any other option.

Instead of an Advanced diploma, it would be better to pursue B2 from Alliance Française. If you still want to do from DU, you can apply when forms are available in July-August. You can pick a few distinguished colleges from the list.

Hi, I have a question. Are DELE exams still needs to be given after enrolling for a diploma/degree in DU? All I want to know is if we can directly go for DELE exams by self-study without studying from any college? The thing I want to know is, what value these DU colleges are adding vs self-studying if the end goal is to clear the DELE exam in any way.

              Please share your thoughts.

No, it is not important to give DELE if you’re studying at DU. But, DELE diplomas add value to your C.V. Self-study isn’t very effective, and the success ratio is very less. That’s why people do regular courses all over the world. But if one can study on own, one can give DELE without studying anywhere.

You can pick between a college course and self-study, but it all depends on your goal. If you just want to learn randomly, it may not be beneficial. So, my suggestion would be to find a reason why you want to learn French in the first place. Admission in part-time courses is based on either cut-off or entrance, whereas for BA, it’s cut-off around 90%.

Hello Sir, I’ve passed my 12th this year, and right now I’m doing a Certificate in Spanish from Daulat ram College. I also want to take admission in BA in Spanish Honours. So, I applied to the DU 4th cut-off list in the Department of GRS. But as I’ve not studied the Spanish language in my 12th that’s why after deducting 5% my percentage is not meeting the list. And I don’t think I’ll get my admission because after deducting 5% my % is only 73.50.

So, sir I just want to ask that can I take admission to the Department of GRS next year when my certificate in Spanish will be done? Will they consider it and not deduct 5%? Or they’ll still deduct 5% on my 12th best four?

To the best of my knowledge, they don’t deduce 5% only if one has studied Spanish in the 12th, and not a certificate in Spanish. As an alternative, you can pursue a degree program in any stream of your choice, and along with complete an advanced diploma in Spanish and take DELE A1 to B2. Knowledge wise, it will be as good as BA in Spanish.

It all depends on the choice of language and type of courses you’re seeking. For example, the GRS department does not offer a part-time course in French, German, Spanish, and Italian. On the other hand, DCAC college does not conduct degree programs in foreign languages. Every college has different criteria. You have to check with the respective college. But in most cases, they consider the best 4 if eligibility is marks obtained in the 12th.

If you want to be in the field of journalism, pick the bachelor in Journalism. Similarly, if your objective is a career in German, then BA + MA in German is an excellent choice. Irrespective of what you choose, you can always learn a foreign language part-time, along with a full-time UG degree program.

No. If you are not in Delhi and are not planning to come anytime soon. Avoid! The certificate course is an offline course, and the current online sessions are temporary. Once they resume regular classes, whether it happens in 4 weeks or 4 months, online classes will stop. Plus, by May-July next year, things might improve to conduct an exam.

You can enroll in some private institutes. Most are offering online sessions irrespective of your location, and the quality is also better than DU at some of the centers. You can take the DELE diploma, which is more acceptable than a DU certificate.

You can choose Max Mueller Bhavan. It is the top-ranked German institute in Delhi. Besides, you can also try Language Pantheon, German circle, or German Language School. Private institutes don’t provide Certificates. After completing the levels, you can appear for the Goethe-Zertifikat Deutsch exam to gain a Diploma.

After completing the 12th, he can apply for DU. For private institutes, there is usually no eligibility criteria. The admission is mostly done based on firs-come and first-serve. While it is possible to make a career solely based on Spanish. However, I’d suggest going for a combination. For example, Bachelor and Master program in the in-demand stream along with part-time Spanish with a goal of DELE C1.

TOPIK Level IV will enable her to crack the entrance for MA. Besides, she can also try for a 2-year PG Intensive Advanced Diploma in Korean from DU through the department of East Asian studies. The entrance for the same will be conducted in May.

University courses might not be suitable. You can enroll in any reputed Japanese institute in Delhi. Since your aim is career enhancement, thus, you should aim for at least JLPT N2. After N2, you can apply to several companies as a Japanese language specialist. A caveat: You need to have persistence, patience and enough motivation since it takes considerable time to achieve a higher level in Japanese. Good Luck!

J&M Offers BA in Spanish whereas Zakir Husain College conducts degree programs in Arabic and Persian. Beyond these 2 colleges, Arts faculty is the only option as far as I am aware. In fact, Bachelor in Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Portuguese are not offered by any DU College or Arts faculty.

Usually, Diploma in Chinese from any recognized University is required for Advanced Diploma. Thus, it is difficult to get admission. You can check with the College. Even if you don’t get admission, you can aim for HSK Level V. It is good enough to get a decent job related to Mandarin. 祝好运 (Good Luck!)

I want you to know there will be a deduction of 5% from the best of four if you haven’t studied the subject concerned in which you are seeking admission (12th). One can add two language subject in bo4. I had 89.5% in 12th, and after deduction, it had been 84.5%, thus secured the seat in the 3rd cutoff.
If anyone adds physical education in bo4, then there will be a deduction of 7.5% in their percentage.

Normally, there is no entrance exam for a Certificate course. The admission is done on the basis of marks obtained in 12th. It will be extremely difficult to track so many Languages and Colleges. Thus, pick a language and select few nearby Colleges from the aforementioned list. Then track 3-4 Colleges via their official website. Even if you miss to apply to a particular college. No need to worry. There are more and even better options beyond DU.

For Diploma, Certificate is the language concerned is a prerequisite. You may be eligible but class timing and pace of the course may or may not be suitable for you. I’d suggest joining any reputed centre like Instituto Hispania in Panchsheel Park. They also offer a Spanish course on weekends and the fee is quite affordable. With some good teaching staff including natives, it is also an authorized centre for the SIELE exam in India.

My suggestion would be to choose a Language, then pick a few nearby Colleges and apply by visiting the concerned Colleges when forms will be available.

There are 16 DU Colleges with a Certificate in German. The admission is either done through marks obtained in 12th or direct admission if the number of applicants are less than the total seats.

The eligibility criteria vary greatly from one College to another and requirements change every year. When the forms will be available between the 2nd to 4th week of June, You can check the eligibility criteria of these 16 Colleges and apply accordingly. Choose a nearby College!
