So, can I after attaining B2 level in French, apply for MA in French from DU though only through ‘entrance test’ as my percentile is below 60? Plus I also have a certificate in French language studies from ‘Alison’.
Regardless of your percentile in graduation, you can take the entrace for MA in French.

Hello sir, what is the part-time German certificate course in DU equivalent to in terms of A1, B1 and etc?

I have already searched on Google but nothing cleared my doubts properly. It would be immensely helpful if you could be my guiding light in this.
You don’t need to search Google, but this article itself has all the information. Just check the headings (i) North Campus Colleges and (ii) South Campus Colleges. Pick the college offering a certificate in German. Then visit the site and apply. The last date is already over for most colleges. Still, you can check if admission is still going on. You can also study at any private institute.
Sir, I am a 12th passed student (in 2019) with a 70 percent aggregate but now I am doing b.com 3rd year from NCWEB DU and now I want to do B.A (hons.) in the Spanish language. So for that DU takes the entrances test? One more question is that what is more good doing B.A or M.A and after this Or I should go for A1 to C2 tests which one is good according to fees and costs too!
Admission to BA in Spanish at DU is based on marks obtained in 12th, which was more than 90% this year. A1 to C1 is good, and after that, you can try entrance for MA in Spanish.
Hello Sir, I want to ask that if I’ll do a Certificate, Diploma and Advance Diploma in German, then for MA in German do I need to do another graduation or that part-time will be considered as an ug degree for MA?

For part-time courses, colleges rarely make a difference. It depends more on the faculty. You can pick either one, whatever is convenient to you.
I am satisfied with this post as it is very helpful to me or others in their career before or after joining the course. Keep on posting like this thanks.
I’m glad this article was helpful.
Hey sir! I am 12th pass out. Going to enroll for UG courses. Is it possible that I can pursue my bachelor’s in another course as well as a certificate language program?
Yes.
Sir, I am interested in getting admission to a certificate course in Spanish, My 12th percentage was 70%. Will it is easy for me to get admission in DU and if yes so, on which college/colleges specifically should I apply for on the basis of my 12th percentage.
Also, I am a bit confused about the language I should go for, from Spanish and French. Can you suggest to me which of these languages do have a bright career?
That is difficult to say as it depends on the number of applicants. It would be better to try many colleges, and in case you don’t get the desired college, you can also consider private institutes. Both French and Spanish are fine.
Sir, I have studied French in school for 5 years till 10th class. Should I take admission in the Certificate course? Kamla Nehru college gives adm. in Diploma course to students who’ve studied the language till 10th. Should I take that up instead?
If your French language is still good enough and the college allows, you can take directly in diploma.

Hello sir,
I want to know if it is worth it to apply for a language course (part-time)…like do the teachers, courses, and books really help get proficiency. Also, do you know any such person doing a language course in du or any experience?
Yes, overall DU part-time language courses are ok. The quality of teaching varies as it depends on the teacher. The speed of the course is a bit slow, but the price is affordable.
Sir can you suggest some colleges where German course (part time) is good?
St. Stephen, Hansraj, Ramjas, Hindu, Daulat Ram, Miranda House are some of the good options.
Thank you sir โบ๏ธ
How do I calculate the best 4 marks percentage? I have to take admission in part time French language course. I had vocational in 12th (subjects included: English Core, Business Std, Accounts, Hindi Elective, banking and insurance).
I guess except Hindi, all be considered. Every college has different criteria. So, check with the college where you want to study.
Sir, i didn’t have english in 12th but in this class, I get 80% marks so, I can take admission in (certificate) foreign language course??
Yes.
Sir, when will the forms for the certificate course be available? I want to apply for Korean language certificate course.
Hopefully, by the end of August, but the dates will vary from college to college. To know the exact dates, you must track the colleges regularly.
Oh ok, sir thank you for replying. Also sir one more thing I want to ask you. Will this certificate course in the Korean language help me in qualifying TOPIK 1 &2? Or should I drop this course and take admission to an institute for TOPIK preparation. I still have 3 years until graduation.
A certificate will only help in level 1 of TOPIK I. However, if you complete a 3-year Advanced diploma, you might be able to clear level 3 or 4 of TOPIK II. Do remember that TOPIK has a validity of only 2 years. If you want to study on a fast track, private institutes would be a better choice.
Sir,
I have completed a certificate course (part-time) in Japanese from DU. Now, should I go for a diploma (part-time) and then JF2 or take admission directly in JF1. Which choice will provide me with a better opportunity?
Thank You.
You can do a diploma followed by JF2. But JF2 is a full-time course and requires you to be graduate and then take the entrance test.
Sir, i have done part time certificate course in Korean language and i want to go for a full time course in the department of east Asian studies what is the process do I need to fill the du registration form?
The department of EAS conducts a SLAT entrance test for a 1-year intensive full-time PG diploma in Korean. This is different than DU’s Master’s degree programs. So, you have to apply separately. Forms will be available anytime now on the EAS site.
Hello sir,
I wanted to ask, do I need to fill the registration form for PG, which is ongoing, if I want to apply for KF-1? Or is it a totally different procedure?
It is different.
Hello! Can I still apply for the one-year pg intensive diploma course in the Japanese language for 2021-2022?
Yes, you can when forms will be available soon.
Sir I am a graduate student from DU and now I want to learn French. Should I opt for full time courses or start with a certificate, diploma, and then advanced diploma.
It would be better to go with courses at any good private French institute. There are many options to choose from.
Thank you for sharing informative post.
Sir, for the PG intensive diploma and advanced intensive diploma in the Department of East Asian Studies, is a certificate and diploma needed in the same language?
Would be really glad if replied.
For Diploma, you need a bachelor’s degree and then appear for the Common Entrance Test (SLAT) of the Department of EAS. In addition, a diploma in the same language is required for direct admission to an intensive advanced diploma.
I want to know that how can I apply for a certificate course in DU and what is the criteria for getting admission in colleges like merit wise or entrance exam and I also want to know that and which type of entrance will be given for taking admission in DU colleges. Sir can you help me that what kind of exam can be conducted or questions put-ups in the entrance exam.
The admission process varies, and it can be both merit or entrance, depending on the college. It would be difficult to say as every College has a different procedure.
Different colleges have different criteria and timings for the certificate courses. Some colleges offer their certificate courses to only students belonging to the college itself whereas some colleges allow outsiders also. So you can go for the ones where outsiders are also allowed. There is no superiority of colleges in certificate courses but yes, fees may differ.

Now I’m seeking a certificate course in the French language. Can I do it? Please sir explain the process and tell me what are the required documents.
Thank you, Sir.
Yes. Choose the DU colleges from the above list offering certificates in French, and apply when forms are available in 1-2 months.
Can you please confirm the exact month to apply for French advance diploma course 2021-2022 batch . I am waiting for it and also tell us how we get to know that forms are available for the same.
For that, contact the respective college. It may be sometime in July. Also, I hope you have done a diploma in French to be eligible to apply for an adv. diploma.
I have done DELF B1 so am I eligible for advanced diploma.
For an advanced diploma, a diploma is required. It should be considered, but check with the respective college.
Sir, I’m pursuing my BCom from Delhi University (Jesus and Mary college). Currently, I’m in 2 years and besides that, I’m learning Japanese from a private institution. I’m currently studying for n3. I want to pursue MA in Japanese after my BCom. As I haven’t studied Japanese in my bachelor’s. Would I be able to apply for MA in Japanese? What are the procedures please sir let me know?
You can appear for the entrance test conducted by the Arts faculty of the DU. You can also take the entrance test for other universities like JNU, Doon University, EFLU, TMU, VBU, Bengaluru University, etc. You may require close to N2 level and do check previous year question papers to prepare.
Sir, I want to do a full-time UG course in DU in the German language. So what’s the scope or career after doing this course. How can I get admission to the college? What’s the procedure and which college offers full-time UG courses in German.
Department of GRS at Arts faculty is the only option in DU to pursue BA in German. The admission is based on merits (12th marks), and the process will start in a few days/weeks. For careers and benefits, you can read some of the articles on this blog.
Hii Sir,
I have done my graduation in B.com so can I directly apply for PG Diploma in french without getting any certificate in this language. Answer Please!
DU doesn’t offer a PG diploma but MA in French. And for that, you need a good command of French, something like a BA/Advanced Diploma in French, or DELF B2.
Good afternoon sir, I retired from Airindia in Feb 2022. I completed MA IN 1986 from Meerut University with 42.1%. I want to take admission in Part time certificate course in French. Pls. let me know the procedure to take admission in DU.
Check the colleges offering certificates in French, then apply when forms are available. You can get info on their site. Alternatively, it would be better to study at any private institute.
Hi Sir,
I have done my graduation In B.com from SOL Delhi, with 50% of marks in 2017. After that, I haven’t done my PG. I was interacting with Korean in 2016 and it gives me a big impact. Back then I don’t have the knowledge regarding this language that it’s very popular and a good career option as well. Now I want to learn the Korean language and want to make a career in this language, so can you advise me on how to do it from Delhi university and what are the criteria.
You can try at one of the DU colleges offering a 3-years Advanced Diploma when the forms will be available in July-Aug. Alternatively, you can try any private institutes or Korean cultural center at Lajpat Nagar.
Hello sir!
Can you suggest some nice colleges for german Hons (full course) rather than grs and jnu. I’ve searched a lot but all du college provide only part-time courses. The only college I could come across was jnu and grs.
Please reply sir.
There are tons of universities like BHU, EFL, MU, Visva Bharti, Doon University, CUJ, AMU, Amity, etc with a BA in the German program.
No, sir. I meant in Delhi.
JNU and DU are the only two options in Delhi. If you’re ok with a private university, then Amity Noida is another choice, though not as good as compared to DU/JNU.
Hello sir, I want to know Can I be able to apply for a Korean language course from DU on weekends? I am currently pursuing a full-time b.sc cs degree from MDU 1st year (2nd semester). In my 12th, I secure 76% overall in 2020.
Most DU classes are conducted on weekdays, but a few colleges also offer weekend timing. So, you have to check if the weekend is possible when the forms will be available. Alternatively, you can also try some private institutes.
Hello sir,
I’m doing study in du sol pol honors at now. I want to know can I do a language diploma from du regular colleges. And is that has any entrance for the admission process and do I need any special qualification? Can you help me, please?
Yes, you can enroll. Before Diploma, you have to pursue a certificate in that language. It is based on the entrance, cut-offs, or sometimes, direct admission. It depends on the college and language. I’d suggest you pick a language and shortlist some colleges. When forms are available in July or so, you can apply for them.
Sir, I have studied French till class 10th in my school (from class 5th to 10th). So, can I apply directly in Diploma or Advanced Diploma course in du rather than certificate course? Because I know the basics of French.
sir reply!
No. You have to start with a certificate course.
Why sir? Can i give a entrance test for a diploma? My 1 year will get wasted and sir I am in my 1st year of college in du (BCom).
Because to get a direct admisson in Diploma, one needs a recognized certificate in the same language. You can contact the respective college if they have any other option.
Hi,
I have completed Delf B1 in French in 2019. Now I want to apply for the advanced diploma in du. Kindly suggest the best college, admission procedure, and also the dates in the 2021-2022 session.
Instead of an Advanced diploma, it would be better to pursue B2 from Alliance Franรงaise. If you still want to do from DU, you can apply when forms are available in July-August. You can pick a few distinguished colleges from the list.
Hi, I have a question. Are DELE exams still needs to be given after enrolling for a diploma/degree in DU? All I want to know is if we can directly go for DELE exams by self-study without studying from any college? The thing I want to know is, what value these DU colleges are adding vs self-studying if the end goal is to clear the DELE exam in any way.
Please share your thoughts.
No, it is not important to give DELE if you’re studying at DU. But, DELE diplomas add value to your C.V. Self-study isn’t very effective, and the success ratio is very less. That’s why people do regular courses all over the world. But if one can study on own, one can give DELE without studying anywhere.
Can I do MA in a foreign language? What is the criteria for cuet. I had completed my graduation in bcom honors.
You are eligible to appear for the entrance test. However, you need knowledge equivalent to BA in the same language to pass the test. For example, if you wish to pursue MA in French, you need knowledge similar to BA in French.
Hello sir,
How can I take admission in a language course at du?
When the forms will be available in June-July. The admission process varies depending on the course. If you’ve any specific course in mind, let me know.
Sir, is East Asian Studies under DU the only institution offering a full-time diploma and an advanced diploma in Chinese? If not can you please name it?
Yes, it is the only option for a 2-year full-time PG diploma/advanced diploma in Chinese.
Hey, I have completed my B1 level in french from alliance Francaise and pursuing my B2. I would like to have the advanced diploma from DU as well. Can I directly apply for an advanced diploma?
No.
I am currently pursuing a BSc hons from amity university. I just wanted to know if I can do a certificate course in the Japanese language from DU simultaneously.
Yes.
Sir, I am actually confused about which college in DU offers a part-time Japanese certificate course since doing a full-time course on weekdays would be difficult.
This is mentioned under the heading โList of DU colleges offering Language Programs.โ Some known colleges are SGTBK, St. Stephenโs, LakshmiBai, Daulat Ram, Ramjas, Miranda house, Ram Lal, and Shyam Lal.
Hello,
Actually, I wanna learn the Japanese language but I have no proper guidelines. If you don’t mind, then could you help me?
Tell me what exactly you want to know. You can study Japanese either at one of the DU colleges or a private Institute. Probably email me details with your exact requirement, etc. I will look over it.
Sir, I’ve passed my 12 class and now I am thinking of taking admission in BA German. So, is there any entrance for admission? And if I do a Chinese part-time course, will it good? Or BA in german is good for me?
Admission to BA in German is based on marks obtained in 12th. Both options are fine, and you can choose as per your goal and academic preference.
I complete bsc with math hons. Can I do master in a foreign language? Or it’s compulsory to do a bachelor’s first in language.
You don’t need BA in a foreign language, but it is mandatory to have similar knowledge to crack the MA entrance test.
Will the admission forms for the certificate course in DU will be available with UG and PG forms in June 2021? Or they are available throughout the year?
No. Only once in a year, around May-June.
Sir can you please tell me how to calculate the best four for the Spanish language. Can I add physical education or computer science in my best of four subjects?
I guess no. You have to consider the main academic subjects.
Sir,
When will the SLAT form release for 2021? I can’t find it anywhere.
DU will release sometime in May/June.
Sir, I have completed a certificate course in French from Delhi university in April 2020. I wish to do a Diploma course in French Language in 2021 from St. Stephen’s college. Do I need to give any entrance regarding that and what is usually asked? when do they take entrance exams and what will be the duration of the course? Do they look for any specific percentage in English class 12th or in certificate course marks also if someone will give entrance exam?
Probably, yes. But difficult to say as they don’t announce the information regarding that. It is for 1 year, and the test covers the syllabus of the certificate course. You can contact the college when the admission process starts in mid-2021.
How many % you have in class 12th. Can you tell me how many minimum % require to get admission?
I am an army officer who got posted to Delhi. I am keen to learn French. I have no previous knowledge. Request if you can assist me in providing the details in my mail.
You can learn French by enrolling at L’Alliance Franรงaise, 72, KK Birla Marg, Lodhi Estate.
Sir, I am from the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, but I wish to have an additional Korean course that Ramjas College offers within the Delhi University. So is it possible?
Yes.
I’m planning to pursue a one-year intensive diploma course in Japanese from Arts Faculty, DU. I wanted to know if any previous knowledge of the language is required since I’m a beginner or is the entrance exam enough for admission?
Arts faculty doesn’t provide an Advanced Diploma in Japanese. They offer a 1-year PG intensive Diploma and a 1-year intensive Advanced diploma. If this is what you meant, you have to take the entrance for the Diploma course. You don’t need previous knowledge of Japanese.
Sir, I have completed my UG two year diploma in Korean from a renowned university. How will I get admission in Pg diploma/ advanced diploma in DU? Will I have to give kf1 or kf2?
You can take the SLAT entrance for KF2 or an advanced diploma from Daulat Ram College in mid-2021.
Slat is for pg intensive diploma and kf2 (advanced diploma) given based on kf1 (intensive diploma). Which should I do? kf1 or kf2?
Sorry, I didn’t get you. If you don’t have prior Korean knowledge, you have to take entrance for KF-1. If you have completed at least a 2-year Diploma in Korean from DU, you can take KF-2 entrance.
I have completed 2 year UG diploma in Korean.
Then, you can try for KF-2 (PG Intensive Adv. Diploma in Korean).
Sir, I’m in 12th standard and I’m thinking of pursuing a French course in DU. My decision is just random and I’m afraid that whether I’ll go through it without too much investment or not because till now I’ve 0 knowledge of French. Can I’ve some scope in this course if I’ll do self-study in French? And also I want to know about the percentage criteria for pursuing this course in DU. Do percentages goes high in DU for this course or is it average?
You can pick between a college course and self-study, but it all depends on your goal. If you just want to learn randomly, it may not be beneficial. So, my suggestion would be to find a reason why you want to learn French in the first place. Admission in part-time courses is based on either cut-off or entrance, whereas for BA, it’s cut-off around 90%.
Hello sir,
I am an interior designer and I wish to have an opportunity for foreign. Will you please recommend me a beneficial language?
All the languages that I have covered on this blog is useful in some way.
Is the language course alone is worth doing?
Yes, but you will be dependent on that language for the jobs. A combination expands the career horizon.
Hello sir,
Right now I am pursuing b.com, but now I want to do M.A French. So, is it possible to take admission to Delhi university after doing a diploma for French till B2?
After completing an advanced diploma or knowledge similar to DELF B2, you can appear for the entrance test for Masters in French. If you crack the entrance, you can get admission.
Hello sir, what will be the duration of the part-time certificate course? I will be in the last semester of college when the course will start, and thus it will be difficult if the course extends beyond one semester.
The duration of the certificate course is 1-year, and the course usually starts in August/September and ends in May.
Hello Sir, I’ve passed my 12th this year, and right now I’m doing a Certificate in Spanish from Daulat ram College. I also want to take admission in BA in Spanish Honours. So, I applied to the DU 4th cut-off list in the Department of GRS. But as I’ve not studied the Spanish language in my 12th that’s why after deducting 5% my percentage is not meeting the list. And I don’t think I’ll get my admission because after deducting 5% my % is only 73.50.
So, sir I just want to ask that can I take admission to the Department of GRS next year when my certificate in Spanish will be done? Will they consider it and not deduct 5%? Or they’ll still deduct 5% on my 12th best four?
To the best of my knowledge, they don’t deduce 5% only if one has studied Spanish in the 12th, and not a certificate in Spanish. As an alternative, you can pursue a degree program in any stream of your choice, and along with complete an advanced diploma in Spanish and take DELE A1 to B2. Knowledge wise, it will be as good as BA in Spanish.
Sir, what is the eligibility for taking admission in BA in Spanish in the department of GRS? Is it a full-time course or part-time??
The admission is given based on 12th marks. It is a full-time degree program.
I am working in a ministry, so I am free only on Saturday and Sunday. So, is there any college which provides classes of certificate course in French or Spanish on weekends?
Finding a college would be a bit difficult, but you can learn at any private institute. Most of them are offering weekend classes.
Gargi good for English + German, or GRS for German / Spanish?
Both offer different types of courses. For example, Gargi offers part-time programs, whereas GRS conducts only full-time degree courses in these two languages. If you are looking for a BA in English, along with a part-time German or Spanish course, you can consider Gargi.
How is Delhi college of arts and commerce for foreign languages? Which is a better between the department of Germanic and Romance studies and Delhi college of arts and commerce. Also, is there any deduction levied in the best four aggregates of the candidate in Gargi and DCAC in a foreign language?
It all depends on the choice of language and type of courses you’re seeking. For example, the GRS department does not offer a part-time course in French, German, Spanish, and Italian. On the other hand, DCAC college does not conduct degree programs in foreign languages. Every college has different criteria. You have to check with the respective college. But in most cases, they consider the best 4 if eligibility is marks obtained in the 12th.
What would be the difference in B.A. in English + German or BA Hons. in German/Spanish? Which is better? If want to go into journalism. Pls only about the degree, not a diploma or other.
The same difference between a degree and short-term courses. There is no better one. Pick the one as per your interest and career goal. If you want to be in the field of journalism, pick the bachelor in Journalism. Similarly, if your objective is a career in German, then BA + MA in German is an excellent choice. Irrespective of what you choose, you can always learn a foreign language part-time, along with a full-time UG degree program.
Hello Sir,
I am searching for cut-offs in DU in the French language but no college is showing French or any other foreign language cut off. Is there any notice that will release or there is any other site to check cut-offs in DU in Foreign languages?
Various colleges publish the merit list on their website though sometimes, it is tricky to find due to the cluttered websites. And in some cases, they publish only on the notice board at their campuses.
Sir, I want to know what is the requirement for a full-time degree course like ba in french in du colleges. And on what basis they select the students? I also want to know that, sir, which colleges offer a full-time French course?
Only Arts faculty through the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies offers a full-time BA in French. The admission is based on merit-list, i.e., marks obtained in the 12th board.
Sir,
I want to take a full-time course in the Korean language. I am in class 12th. Which college should I pursue?
DU does not offer a full-time BA in Korean. You can try JNU and Jamia Millia Islamia. The admission to both is based on the entrance test.
Hello sir, I just want to ask you that I want admission to a certificate course in French from Delhi University, but now the registration date is over. So, can you plz tell me, is there any chance to re-open the admission in 2020. Please tell.
Unlikely if the last date is over. Nearly 20 DU colleges offer the certificate in French. So, maybe you can check if any admission is still going on in some of these colleges.
Sir, can I do 2 certificates part-time courses from DU from 2 different colleges?
Yes, if it is feasible and beneficial for you.
Sir, I am asking that is it feasible? Is it possible according to DU rules and regulations? I want to do both from DU at the same time.
I’m not aware of any such DU restriction. If it is possible to manage both, you can pursue two certifications simultaneously.
Hi Vikash,
By when do you expect the DU colleges will reopen? Even if they reopen, would they risk it by taking the certificate courses offline too? I want to join the Spanish certificate course, but I’m not working in Delhi. Therefore, I won’t be able to attend any offline classes. Should I apply for the course in St. Stephens and hope that it remains online throughout?
No. If you are not in Delhi and are not planning to come anytime soon. Avoid! The certificate course is an offline course, and the current online sessions are temporary. Once they resume regular classes, whether it happens in 4 weeks or 4 months, online classes will stop. Plus, by May-July next year, things might improve to conduct an exam.
You can enroll in some private institutes. Most are offering online sessions irrespective of your location, and the quality is also better than DU at some of the centers. You can take the DELE diploma, which is more acceptable than a DU certificate.
Hello sir, My best of four marks are 87 and I scored 92 in English. Will, i able to make in St. Stephens for a certificate language course in French?
Difficult to say. It depends on the total number of applicants and marks they obtained in the 12th. You can wait for the final cut-off marks.
How and where can one take a DELE diploma?
There are 6 authorized DELE centers in India – Chennai, Jaipur, Mumbai, Mussoorie, New Delhi, and Kolkata. You can check all the details โ 2021 DELE
Sir,
Are there any colleges that offer the certificate/full course online? Iโm planning on pursuing journalism but also have an interest in learning Korean. Are there any colleges in Delhi University that do so?
Not in my knowledge. These days, most of the educational institutions are conducting online classes, but it is temporary.
Hello Sir, I want to apply for a certificate course in Spanish. I have completed my UG from DU. So sir, can you please tell me how to apply the form and from where.
(i) Select the Colleges offering a certificate in Spanish. The list of colleges is mentioned above. (ii) As per your choice, visit the respective College website, and apply if forms are available. To make the entire process simple, choose only 3-4 nearby Colleges.
Sir, has the admission of part-time certificate courses in Spanish started in du? Please reply as soon as possible.
Yes, but dates vary depending on the college.
Hello sir, I am a working professional and wanted to do a part-time Diploma in French from Jesus & Mary college, what are the eligibility criteria for it and application process?
J&M is a women-only college. Plus, a part-time Diploma might not be suitable for you if you are working. You can also try some private institutes.
Sir, does learning foreign languages help in getting a government job?
Not really.
Hi Vikash, great article. Even for a Postgraduate, only the 12th marks are considered for admission to certificate courses or UG/PG as well? I’m interested in applying for Spanish course at St. Stephens, Ramjas, or Hansraj. The forms aren’t out yet still.
Yes, only based on 12th marks.
Sir, can I get a job in the embassy if I get an advanced diploma in French/German/Japanese from any Du College.
Difficult. There are very few new openings in embassies, and in most cases, you need skills other than languages.
Sir, I have learned Japanese online, through videos, apps, and also through books. Now, if I need a diploma, would I still have to start from n5 level in a private institute or can I attain a diploma simply by passing an exam?
If your Japanese is good enough, you can directly give the JLPT without taking regular courses. Another option is to take an orientation test in any pvt institute to get enroll directly for N4. It all depends on your Japanese ability.
Sir, I am currently in my 2nd year of B.Com (correspondence) and I want to pursue MBA (regular) from next year. I want to join a diploma course in French/German language side by side. So, would it be helpful to pursue an MBA with a Diploma in a Foreign Language?
Yes, if MBA is regular full-time.
Sir, can I get a good job if I complete a certificate-diploma-advance diploma in the German Language from Daulat Ram College? Also, does the college provide placement for diploma or you have to find a job yourself?
Advanced Diploma can help you find a position involving German. You have to find a job on your own.
Sir, I want to do a Japanese course from DU but I didn’t get any information about Foreign Language Course. Please tell me.
For that, you have read this article. Everything is mentioned here.
Sir, should do ba (hons) in the Japanese language from du.
DU does not offer a BA in Japanese.
So which university offer sir. In du can I do Japanese after graduation of ba program full time?
JNU, BHU, EFLU, VBU, Doon, and TMV are some options with a BA in Japanese. After graduation, you can part-time courses from various DU colleges.
What is the last date to apply for a language course in du?
Yesterday was the last date for UG degree programs. For part-time language courses, every college has different dates. Check the college website where you want to apply.
Hello, sir, this is Ajay I got 83.75 percentage in 12th of best for, and I am in general Ceatagory so should I get admission in GRS in French or German language. Please reply as soon as possible.
Thanks sir.
You can apply and wait for the merit-list. Last year, the cut-off was between 85% to 90% for the General category. So, difficult to say.
Sir, can you plz suggest any private institutes for language like French German or Japanese?
French – Alliance Franรงaise, German – Max Mueller Bhavan, and Japanese – MOSAI and Japan Foundation.
Thanks, sir ji.
Sir, these are best or more?
Best is quite subjective, but these institutes are great. If you want more options, you can check on this blog for the articles related to several languages-specific centers in Delhi.
Can you please suggest to me some good private institute in Delhi for learning Spanish language?
Instituto Cervantes and Instituto Hispania.
I have done B.Com as a non-collegiate and also done a part-time certificate in French from Delhi university. If I complete my advanced diploma in French from DU, can I get a good job, or can I get admission to MA French from Delhi university? Please reply as soon as possible.
Yes, you can find a job. Since there is no direct admission to MA, you have to appear for an entrance test. However, your Advanced Diploma can help you prepare.
Sir, pursuing part-time courses for a certificate, then a diploma and then an advanced diploma in foreign languages will help me in getting a good job? Is it beneficial to invest time here in search of a good job in the future?
Yes, possible.
Du says that in admission for ba in a foreign language in GRS 5% marks will be deducted If I haven’t studied it in 12th. I am a general category with 87%. After deduction, my marks will be 82%. Will I get admission. Please reply.
Yes, that’s true. It is difficult to predict. Last year, the last cut-off (general) was around 85% for French, Spanish, and German. For Italian, it was around 80%.
Sir, I have learned Spanish through online classes and apps, so is it important to have a degree from any recognized organization of Spanish for a job in the same field.
Yes, but you don’t need to study at any educational institution. You can directly give the DELE or SIELE test to gain an international Spanish diploma.
Sir, I want to apply for certificate program in du 2020-21 but I can’t find any information on the du official website. Can you please give me information regarding this?
The admission procedure for part-time programs typically starts once the admission is over for regular degree courses. Also, you have to check various college websites as they offer such courses, not various departments of DU.
Sir, please tell me I got 55% marks in the 12th and I want to get admission full time in the French language in DU. Is it possible without entrance exam I get admission in DU?
I already replied. There are two things: (i) There is no entrance for a BA in French. (ii) Admission is based on the merit list. Last year, the cut-off was between 80% to 90%, depending on various categories. To sum up, it is not possible to get admission with 55%. You can try private institutes or part-time courses offered by various DU colleges.
Hello sir, Can you please suggest the best online classes in Spanish. I want to learn Spanish but from online experts, because of lockdown and COVID19. I dont want to learn outside. Is it right to learn language from online classes?

Sir, I am a graduate of BA Hons. History and also passed certificate in the Japanese Language from IGNOU. Am I eligible for a Japanese language diploma from St. Stephens and Ramjas College?
Since IGNOU’s CJL is a 1-year certificate program, thus, it should be enough to apply for Diploma in Japanese. You can check with both colleges when forms will be available.
Sir, I cleared 12 class in 2017. Am I eligible for language course?
Yes.
Sir, I’m a BA eng Hons student from DU sol second year, and side by side, I want to learn the Spanish language from DU (regular). Is it possible to take admission in DU for a language course?

Sir, I want to learn german language from a private institution. So can you please suggest me the names of some institutes where I can apply? And also, is it necessary to complete all the levels to get a certificate in the German language?
You can choose Max Mueller Bhavan. It is the top-ranked German institute in Delhi. Besides, you can also try Language Pantheon, German circle, or German Language School. Private institutes don’t provide Certificates. After completing the levels, you can appear for the Goethe-Zertifikat Deutsch exam to gain a Diploma.

Only Universities and College awards a certificate. You can join any private institute like Instituto Hispania. They have both native and Indian faculty, and the quality of Spanish teaching is good.
Hello Sir,
Your blog has been really helpful. I have completed the B2 level in the Spanish Language from a private institute. Along with that, I have done my bachelor’s in English from Delhi University now I want to go for an MA in Spanish. Could you please guide me with the admission procedure for the same and when does the entrance exam for it takes place.
If you have already achieved B2 level, then you can appear for the entrance exam for various Universities like JNU, DU, EFLU Hyderabad, Pune University, Doon University, Bangalore University, etc. The admission procedure usually starts from Jan to April.
Sir, my son doing 12th from NIOS. Can he apply for the Spanish language in DU or any other institute? For his future is only language sufficient?
After completing the 12th, he can apply for DU. For private institutes, there is usually no eligibility criteria. The admission is mostly done based on firs-come and first-serve. While it is possible to make a career solely based on Spanish. However, I’d suggest going for a combination. For example, Bachelor and Master program in the in-demand stream along with part-time Spanish with a goal of DELE C1.
Is Jnu offer Adv diploma in French?

My daughter will complete her A4 level I in the Korean language from Korean Culture Centre, Delhi. She is also completing her BBA and wants to pursue an MA in the Korean language. Please advise. Regards.
JNU and CUJ (Ranchi) are only two Universities with MA in the Korean program. Iโm not sure about her level. She can appear for the TOPIK exam to gauge her proficiency. TOPIK Level IV will enable her to crack the entrance for MA. Besides, she can also try for a 2-year PG Intensive Advanced Diploma in Korean from DU through the department of East Asian studies. The entrance for the same will be conducted in May.
Sir, my percentage in 12 is not so good. So, Am I eligible according to the requirements! Can I opt for any Chinese and German language course from St Stephen college, or my selection on that course is nil?

I am a B.Tech graduate. I have developed a keen interest in the Japanese language. I have recently quit my job and want to pursue my passion for learning languages. Can you please guide me what can be the best option. I need guidance as this is an unconventional path which I am willing to take.

University courses might not be suitable. You can enroll in any reputed Japanese institute in Delhi. Since your aim is career enhancement, thus, you should aim for at least JLPT N2. After N2, you can apply to several companies as a Japanese language specialist. A caveat: You need to have persistence, patience and enough motivation since it takes considerable time to achieve a higher level in Japanese. Good Luck!
