Yes, you are eligible, but the number of seats would be fewer for those who passed the 12th three years back. You can check the prospectus for the syllabus. They might conduct the test tentatively in April-May.

Yes, the book will be helpful. There isn’t any specific topic. Just focus on generic English, GK, etc. You can try more books and check the last few year’s QP to get a broad overview. Pick Spanish as 1st option. Rest are all self-explanatory. There will be instructions on the NTA site on how to complete the form. Don’t worry!

It is not possible to get admission to MA in any foreign language without prior knowledge. The entrance test is compulsory and conducted in the same language you’re seeking admission. There are two options for you: Either try BA in Japanese/Korean. It may not be suitable for you as you have to repeat your UG. Instead, you can try one of the private institutes to achieve an advanced level.

There is no separate MA integrated course. It simply means, after completing Bachelors’s program, you can take direct admission to masters in the same language without appearing for the entrance test.

Integrated MA is not a unique course, but just a combination of BA + MA in the same language. It means once you complete the bachelor program, you will get direct admission in MA without going through an entrance test. JNU is no longer conducting the exam for the lateral entry in 2nd year and 3rd year. BA 1st year is the only option.

JNU, DU, BHU, and many other old central Universities don’t come under CUCET (Central University common entrance test). All these universities conduct their own entrance. For 2021-22, CUCET offers BA in Chinese, Korean, and German through CUG, Gandhinagar, and CUJ, Ranchi. You can check their e-prospectus if you’re interested in these two colleges.

To my knowledge, there is no Educational institutions in India that offer MA in German/Spanish in the distance learning mode. Other than the regular Master’s programs in your target language, you can aim to achieve C1/C2 in DELE (Spanish) or Goethe-Zertifikat (German). Knowledge-wise, these are good enough for a vast majority of jobs, but still, these are diplomas and not PG degrees.

Now I want to do an MA in Chinese from Jnu so do I have to study the 4th book (Elementary Chinese readers 4) for the entrance paper of MA or not? Means will I able to pass the MA exam without the 4th book? And if yes, then Is CF1 the only option to complete the 4th book because I can’t attend private institutes?

I’m not sure since I don’t know Mandarin. You can check previous year questions to check your current ability in the Chinese language. But regardless of how you study, you should prepare really well since the total MA seats for outsiders are very few as admission is given directly to BA Chinese pass students of JNU.

Of 100+ options, it is impossible to suggest a particular one. Perhaps, you can read more to come to some conclusion. Then, you can ask something specific.

B1 may not be sufficient to clear entrance. You need at least B2. The exam will be conducted in French, and questions will cover French language, literature, history, culture, and civilization of Francophone countries. Also, linguistics, translation, and didactics of teaching a foreign language are some of the syllabus’s areas. I’m not aware of any book. Yes, it seems they have removed the cluster concept, which is actually good. There will be a common test for all languages. It means GK will be generic, and not restricted to a particular country/region. This is my guess!

You can surely apply for BA in Spanish. Maybe you can join Max Mueller to continue your German. Managing two languages at the same time is not a difficult task. Whether it is the right decision or not, well, only you can decide. It is quite subjective and depends on your goals and interest.

Complete JLPT N2, then appear for the JNU and DU entrance test for MA in Japanese. There is no provision for direct entry. You can check previous year QPs to gauge your level.

To clear JNUEE for MA, you need knowledge equivalent to BA in the same languages. You can achieve by either doing 3-year part-time Advanced Diploma from DU or Jamia or higher level from any private institutes.

After Ph.D. one can become assistant professor and starting salary is normally between 6 to 8 Lakhs per annum. Additionally, It usually takes 10 years to complete Ph.D. (mostly in the same subject). Most people (at least whom i know) did for research and adding new contribution to knowledge in their subject. Making money is not the primary goal nor Ph.D. guarantee a good salary. After Ph.D., one can only become assistant professor. Only few become professor that also after 15-30 years of impeccable experience.

Yes but to clear the entrance test, you need French knowledge equivalent to 3-year BA or Advanced Diploma in French or DELF B2. In short, MA in French is meant for those who are already very good in French language since MA covers literature, history, translation, culture and civilization.

The salary depends on multiple factors like choice of language, proficiency level, company profile, nature of the work, location and many more. Thus, it is very difficult to give you an estimate how much you’ll earn. After bachelor program, i would suggest to pursue MA in the same language. After master degree, you will be eligible for plenty of high-paying language jobs.

It will also depend on the course and location you’re interested in. For instance, BA in Japanese is offered by JNU, BHU, Visva Bharati University but not available in DU, Jamia, Mumbai University, Pune University, etc.

BA is not necessary, you can join any reputed institute with a goal to achieve advanced proficiency in 3 years. Choose a language wisely and enroll in any good learning centre! Read a few articles to get some ideas about which language and career scope.

NO! For MA in Korean from JNU or any University, you need prior knowledge equivalent to 3-year BA / Advanced Diploma / TOPIK Level IV/V in Korean. The entrance question paper will be in Korean only.

I’m glad you’re interested in learning languages 🙂 For BA, you don’t need prior knowledge of Spanish. If your target is MA in Spanish – You need knowledge equivalent to at least 3 year Advanced Diploma. Since certificate is not enough, you should continue learning Spanish for another 2 years.

Jamia also offers a 3-year part-time Advanced Diploma through the entrance exam. You can find all the details at French classes in Delhi

If you want to learn French properly in order to utilize in your career, it will take at least 2-3 years. The certificate course is not worth it from a job perspective. You can try 3-year Advanced Diploma from any affiliated DU college. IGNOU or JNU does not offer any such course.

The 5-year Integrated BA and MA in JNU is the ultimate choice. DU offers a variety of Japanese courses. Some are good, some are average. MOSAI’s 3 year (JLPT N2) is definitely good though fees is on the higher side. I can suggest you something specific if you tell me your academic qualification and what you’re pursuing.

Third option is 3-year part-time Advanced Diploma from Daulat Ram or Ramjas College or 2-year full-time PG Advanced Diploma in Japanese from DU’s Arts faculty.

18 years is a long time. I’m not sure whether you are as good in Spanish as you were at the end of BA 3rd year in 2000. If your Spanish is good enough, you can try for an MA in Spanish by preparing for an entrance test. If not (most likely situation), then study on own or join any reputed institute with an aim to compete for DELE C1. From the career prospects, C1 is as good as MA (in most cases). (iii) 2 Year PG course from DU (Arts faculty and Admission is through entrance exam to be held in June. (iv) Course from any reputed Japanese institute with an aim to complete JLPT N2 in 3 years. Repeating graduation may not be the right thing to do. If you’re keen to study Persian, you can study from anywhere. There are plenty of options.

JNU has announced a delay in the JNU Entrance Exam for the academic year 2019-2020 due to the change in the exam mode. This time, It will be a computer-based test. Registration forms will be available soon and the entrance exam might take place early 2019.

Getting admission in JNU is not an easy task. Start preparing for BA 1st year as per the cluster and if you pass the entrance, take the admission. JNU is ranked number one for foreign language courses.
